Three steps,
once.
After setup you do nothing at all. The text arrives before you are awake.
Tell it your line and ID
Your mobile number, your check-in ID, and your timezone. You enter the ID a single time and never type it again. We verify your phone with a code, so the answer can never reach the wrong person.
It calls, inside your window
At the same time every morning it dials the line, waits through the menu, keys in your ID, and records what the system says back. It calls twice, dialling again as many times as it takes, and both calls have to hear the same thing before it will tell you anything.
You get one text
A text arrives every morning without exception, including the mornings the line was hard to make out. When the answer is anything less than certain, the text says so plainly and points you to the line so you can confirm it yourself.
That is deliberate. Because the text always arrives, silence is never an answer. If a morning ever passes without one, call the line.
Every text also quotes the recording word for word, right beside the answer, so what Clockwork heard is always yours to check against what the line actually said.
